Republic Day Poonch : Republic day at Poonch fort were held with solemn dignity and patriotic fervour on Monday as the national flag was hoisted at the historic fort, reaffirming the nation’s commitment to democratic ideals and constitutional values.

Poonch, January 26: The ceremony was presided over by Additional Deputy Commissioner Tahir Mustafa Malik, who hoisted the tricolour and presented a ceremonial salute. Senior officers of the civil administration and police personnel were present on the occasion.

Notably, the Republic Day Celebrations at Poonch Fort formed part of the nationwide observance of the day, during which flag-hoisting ceremonies are traditionally held at important monuments and government institutions to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India.

Addressing the gathering, ADC Tahir Mustafa Malik extended warm Republic Day greetings to the citizens. He said the day serves as a reminder of the immense sacrifices made by the founding leaders and freedom fighters to secure a democratic and inclusive future for the nation.

Furthermore, he highlighted the strength and grandeur of the Indian Constitution, noting that it guarantees equality, justice, and fundamental rights to people of all religions, languages, and communities. He added that the Republic Day Celebrations at Poonch Fort symbolise national unity as well as the responsibility of every citizen to uphold constitutional principles.

In addition, the ADC stressed that citizens must continue striving to realise the dreams and vision of those who laid the foundation of the Republic. He underlined that peace, discipline, and respect for democratic institutions are essential for sustainable national progress.
