18-Year-Old Kashmiri Youth Assaulted in Uttarakhand

Meanwhile, attackers reportedly assaulted an 18-year-old Kashmiri youth in Uttarakhand’s Vikasnagar area on Tuesday evening.

Kashmiri Youth Assaulted in Uttarakhand

An 18-year-old Kashmiri youth was allegedly assaulted in Uttarakhand’s Vikasnagar area on Tuesday evening, raising serious concerns over the safety of migrant traders from Jammu and Kashmir.

According to family members, the teenager had travelled to Uttarakhand with his family for seasonal trade.

Like many Kashmiri families, they sell shawls during the winter months to earn a livelihood.

Kashmiri Youth Assaulted After Identity Questioning

According to, the youth was stopped by a group of local individuals.

They questioned him about his identity and place of residence.

When they learned he was a Muslim from Kashmir, the situation reportedly turned violent.

The attackers fractured his left arm. He got serious head injuries. Witnesses saw him bleeding heavily after the attack.

Family Members Attacked During Assault on Kashmiri Youth

Meanwhile, the attackers also assaulted other family members present at the scene. They dragged and slapped them and physically abused them during the incident.

Hospitalization of Injured Kashmiri Youth

However, family members first took the injured youth to a nearby local hospital.

Because his injuries were serious, doctors referred him to Doon Hospital in Dehradun for further treatment.

Meanwhile, the attackers also assaulted other family members present at the scene.

Following the incident,the incident gained public attention after social and student activist Jasib Shabbir shared details on social media. He described the assault as deeply disturbing and demanded strict legal action against those responsible.

Activist Demands Justice for Assaulted Kashmiri Youth

Additionally,the activist also appealed to Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami to intervene. He urged the CM to ensure the registration of a proper case and guarantee the safety of migrant Kashmiri traders.

Police Action in Kashmiri Youth Assault Case

Later,police have taken Sanjay Yadav into custody, and further investigation is underway.

According to authorities, legal proceedings will continue in accordance with the law. They will take action against anyone found involved in the assault.
