Jammu and Kashmir falls under a seismically active zone and experiences low- to moderate-intensity earthquakes from time to time. Experts say such tremors are common in the region due to its geographical location along major fault lines.
Officials have advised residents to remain calm and follow standard safety guidelines during seismic activity. Further assessments are underway to ensure there has been no structural damage in vulnerable areas.
