Jamaat-e-Ahle Sunnat Jammu Province Declares Eid-ul-Fitr on 21 March 2026 After Unseen Shawwal Moon

Jamaat-e-Ahle Sunnat Jammu Province has officially announced that the Shawwal crescent moon for 1447 AH was not sighted on 29th Ramadan due to cloudy weather conditions across most parts of Jammu & Kashmir, with no verified Shariah evidence of moon sighting reported.

Accordingly, 20 March 2026 (Friday) will mark the completion of 30 days of Ramadan. People are advised to continue Taraweeh prayers tonight, observe fasting tomorrow, and those in I’tikaf should continue without interruption. Eid-ul-Fitr will be observed on 21 March 2026 (Saturday).

The announcement was issued by Syed Basharat Hussain Rizvi Barati and Mufti Syed Ilhamat Wasim Rizvi Barkati, President of Jamaat-e-Ahle Sunnat Jammu Province.
