Vaishno Devi Medical College approval withdrawn by NMC: In a major setback to medical education in Jammu and Kashmir, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has withdrawn the approval for the MBBS course granted to the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Institute of Medical Excellence (SMVDIME), Reasi. According to official sources, the NMC took the decision after a detailed inspection revealed serious deficiencies in key areas, including infrastructure, availability of qualified faculty, clinical facilities and overall teaching standards.
