Poonch:A spiritually uplifting religious gathering was held at Jamia Masjid Shan-e-Mustafa in Brayan Wala Mangnar, Poonch, to mark the completion of the recitation of the Holy Qur’an during Tarawih prayers in the holy month of Ramadan. The event drew a large number of Islamic scholars, Qur’an memorizers, students and worshippers from across the region.
The ceremony began with a soulful recitation of the Holy Qur’an by Hafiz Maulana Shakeel Ahmad Qadri, whose melodious and heartfelt recitation filled the mosque with a profound atmosphere of devotion and spirituality.
A significant highlight of the gathering was the dignified Dastar-Bandi (turban-tying) ceremony held in honour of Hafiz Shakeel Ahmad Qadri. In the presence of prominent scholars and respected community members, the ceremony symbolized recognition of his service to the Holy Qur’an and his dedication in leading the congregation through the complete recitation during Tarawih prayers throughout Ramadan.
Scholars present at the event congratulated the young Hafiz and offered prayers for his continued success in serving Islam and promoting the teachings of the Qur’an.
The event’s chief guest, renowned Islamic scholar and preacher Mufti Farooq Hussain Misbahi, delivered a keynote address highlighting the spiritual significance of completing the Qur’an during Tarawih prayers.
He remarked that leading the recitation of the entire Qur’an throughout Ramadan is both a great honour and a serious responsibility bestowed by Allah upon the memorizers of the Qur’an.
According to Mufti Misbahi, maintaining consistency, concentration and dedication over the entire month requires extraordinary commitment and spiritual strength.
Completing the recitation of the Holy Qur’an in Tarawih is a tremendous blessing and a sign of divine favour, he said while appreciating the efforts of Hafiz Shakeel Ahmad Qadri.
During his address, Mufti Misbahi also reflected on the historical and spiritual significance of the Day of Badr, one of the most defining events in Islamic history.
He explained that the Battle of Badr established a clear distinction between truth and falsehood and demonstrated how faith and unity can overcome even overwhelming odds.
The Day of Badr teaches us that when believers enter the field with sincerity, unity and complete trust in Allah, victory is granted even when resources are limited,” he said.
He emphasized that the same message remains a guiding light for the Muslim community today.
Other scholars who addressed the gathering stressed the importance of strengthening one’s relationship with the Holy Qur’an, especially during the blessed month of Ramadan. They encouraged the faithful to reflect upon the lessons of Islamic history and adopt the moral and spiritual values taught by the Qur’an.
The speakers also urged the community to nurture religious awareness, unity and moral discipline in society.
The ceremony concluded with a collective supplication for the unity, peace and prosperity of the Muslim Ummah and for the well-being of humanity at large.
The mosque administration expressed gratitude to the visiting scholars, Huffaz and participants who attended the gathering.
